Progress so far

Have really enjoyed learning about Flickr. The one thing that concerns me though (being a small library) is the amount of staff time we would need to use this new technology and keep it up to date with latest news and pictures. I think you would need a staff member who is really keen on using this new technology and very adept at it.

That is where collaboration comes in - find out some other people who are interested in the same kind of things and skim rss feeds from their blogs. I think the strength of so many of these tools comes from collaboration.

I really enjoyed learning about wikis. I think they would be very useful in the library. We have been discussing setting one up for exchanging information on catalouging. As we are only a small library we often sort books a little differently for example we now have a biography section so we have put all the actors together in the one dewey number regardless of whether they are on tv film or theatre.
We have a small staff so this could be a way around the fact that we do not have time to have regular staff meetings.
